We’ve been working with Northpower since 2021. Initially, we implemented a vegetation risk system for them and then developed a custom vegetation risk management plan that clearly outlines their vegetation risk management strategy and specifically how to execute and manage it. Today, our role includes delivering this service as well as training and overseeing their staff on vegetation risk assessment so they can self-deliver, with the help of our software.
A powerful way to manage risk is to have more of your team trained than just the H&S department. We’ve trained not only the risk assessors at Northpower but also the asset and budget managers on how to use the risk management plan framework.
Using our software and proprietary risk management system makes it easy for the Northpower team to really understand the risk and the potential consequence of an individual tree, so they can clearly decide on their budget priorities and when to cut and when not to cut. Instead of going with gut feelings, the risk management system applies science and data to the decisions, removing guesswork.
We have developed their own client dashboard on our software which allows them to log in at any time and see all tree data live. The dashboard is configured to manage to their KPIs and the outcomes they need, such as deciding vegetation priorities and how to allocate their resources appropriately.
We enjoy working collaboratively with the Northpower team to continuously innovate and improve the processes and systems, ensuring we’re adapting to their business and what they need.
